St Andrew’s Clinics for Children (STACC)

STACC supports the provision of vital health care for children living in some of the poorest and remotest areas of Africa. Child mortality in Africa continues to be unacceptably high because of diseases such as malaria, and because of limited or no access to health facilities.

STACC provides funding to support health clinics and projects in Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria and Uganda . Funding supports the provision of free medical treatment, nutritional input and disease prevention.

The impact of its work can be illustrated by a father who took his child to the St Kitzito’s hospital in Uganda.  ‘I brought my four-year-old daughter to the hospital because she had a fever and had developed a body swelling.  The doctors said she had malaria but was also not eating enough.  She was put in the nutrition unit, and they treated her with good food.  She is now well enough to leave hospital’.
