Trustees of Gavin's Mill
Sue Milne
Sue has been an active supporter of fair trade for many years and is a member of the East Dunbartonshire Fair Trade Steering Group and the Bearsden and Milngavie Fair Trade Group. She is one of the founding members of Gavin’s Mill Community Project and remains a trustee of the charity.
John Riches – Chair GMCP
John taught theology at Glasgow University and occasionally in South Africa. Founder of the first fair trade shop in the UK, he also established JTS, now True Origin, a fair trade importer whose products are found in Gavin’s Mill.
Ruth Blakey
Retired Deputy Headteacher, involved in various community initiatives such as secretary of Milngavie Community Development Trust, and chair of East Dunbartonshire Arts Council. Passionate about textile art and community heritage.
Wilson Blakey
Retired headteacher now volunteering as chair of Milngavie Community Development Trust and trustee of Mugdock Castle. He is also active in local charity shops and community projects.
Louise McKenna
Louise McKenna, with over 21 years of HR experience, is committed to creating environments where employees can thrive and promoting ethical workplace practices.
Carol Primrose
Carol, a seasoned librarian and historian, is deeply involved in local history education and archaeological societies, sharing her knowledge through lectures and community engagement.
Liz Ibbotson
Liz Ibbotson, a founding trustee of Gavin’s Mill Community Project, is dedicated to promoting Fair Trade and supporting local charities. She is a volunteer supervisor in the Gavin’s Mill shop and serves as chair of a local befriending service.
